YUGOSLAV THUNDERBOLT MARKINGS FROM ZE-RO DECALS

If you want to build a different-looking Republic ‘bubbletop’ Thunderbolt without settling for a US machine, Ze-Ro Decals might just have the answer. Offered in the three main aircraft scales, its new waterslide set provides a scheme for the Yugoslav Air Force F-47D ‘White 109’ which now resides in the Nikola Tesla Technical Museum, Zagreb, Croatia.

According to Ze-Ro, the machine was painted in Yugoslav equivalents of RAF shades (Dark Green, Ocean Grey, PRU Blue) at Velika Gorica Air Depot near Zagreb, before delivery to the museum in the 1970s or early ‘80s. This sheet carries all necessary markings… national insignia, ‘109’ codes, serials and a small selection of stencils. Ze-Ro’s instructions notes on the airframe’s structural and scheme nuances. Note that White 109 is an F-47D-40 and as such sports a dorsal fin fillet. Product numbers and prices are as follows:

032007 (1/32) €10.50
048019 (1/48) €8.30
072022 (1/72) €6.10

While the main sheet is shown here, an extra, smaller backing carries another set of white '109' codes. This is an attractive scheme and certainly provides the means of replicating a more unusual Thunderbolt. These and decals for other Balkans-related subjects are available direct from Ze-Ro.
