ZIMO sound for Dapol ‘Manor’
Dapol has secured an agreement with ZIMO to offer its forthcoming newly-tooled Great Western Railway (GWR) ‘Manor’ 4-6-0s with factory-fitted sound as general release items.
All of Dapol’s digital sound-fitted models will feature a bespoke sound project recorded from GWR ‘Manor’ 7820 Dinmore Manor, based at the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway (GWSR).
Eight models are planned, finished as 7800 Torquay Manor in GWR green (Cat No. 4S-001-001), 7814 Fringford Manor in GWR green (4S-001-002), 7807 Compton Manor in GWR green (4S-001-003), 7823 Hook Norton Manor in BR lined black with small early crests (4S-001-004), 7819 Hinton Manor in BR black with large early crests (4S-001-005), 7810 Draycott Manor in BR lined green with small late crests (4S-001-006), 7827 Lydham Manor in BR lined green with late crests (4S-001-007) and 7820 Dinmore Manor in BR lined black with early crests (4S-001-008). A donation from each sale of the latter model (4S-001-008) will be made to the GWSR and Dinmore Manor Locomotive Limited.
The newly-tooled models will feature a die-cast compensated chassis, high-torque motor, slide-in PCB with Next18 Digital Command Control (DCC) decoder socket, all-wheel pick-up, decorated cab interior, firebox glow and sprung front pony truck. Dapol says further enhancements to be added include injectors to the underframe detail behind the cab steps, rear tender hook and tender number plates.
Priced at £165.55 DCC ready, £196.90 DCC fitted and £259.95 DCC sound-fitted, release is scheduled this Spring.
