Prototype HST arrives for ‘N’

Mk 1 Buffet decorated samples

Hornby has received decorated samples of its new ‘OO’ gauge BR Mk 1 Buffet Restaurant (RB/ RB(R)) cars for evaluation (HM157). 

‘Coronation Scot’ coach EPs surface

Hornby has received first Engineering Prototype (EP) samples of its new ‘OO’ gauge LMS ‘Coronation Scot’ coaches (HM155) for assessment by the company’s development team.

Cavalex shows JGA design renders

The latest 3D CAD drawing renders for Cavalex Models 'OO' gauge JGA bogie aggregates hoppers have been revealed by the manufacturer. Prices and a release date are to be confirmed.

KR Models 'Fell' first sample

KR Models has received the first engineering sample of its 'OO' gauge model of the unique 'Fell' 2-D-2 diesel-electric. See the first images here.

All-new MGR hopper for 'OO'

Cavalex Models is producing a brand new 'OO' gauge model of the HAA merry-go-round hopper wagon for 'OO' gauge in a collaboration with Trains4U and KMS Railtech. The freshly tooled wagon is planned for release in the third quarter of 2021 and will cover the HAA and HFA variants.

Heljan announce Class 02 for 'O' and 'OO'!

The Yorkshire Engine Co Class 02 0-4-0 diesel shunter has been announced as Heljan's next ready-to-run locomotive for 'O' gauge - and it will be produced in 'OO' gauge as well. Release is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2021 with prices for DCC ready versions planned at £339.00.

Hatton's showcases Genesis coach artwork

Hatton's have shown its four remaining livery renders for is Genesis 'OO' gauge 4 and 6 wheel coaches. The new batch of artwork covers LB&SCR mahogany, SECR carmine, GNR lined teak and GWR chocolate and cream.

Revolution shows Ecofrets

Revolution Trains has released images of decorated Ecofret container wagons for 'OO' and 'N' gauge. The order booked for these all-new wagons is due to close within the next few weeks allowing the models to move towards production.

'D' decorated samples debut

The collaboration between Locomotion Models, Dapol and Rails of Sheffield have revealed decorated samples of the Wainwright 'D' 4-4-0 for 'OO' gauge. Delivery is now expected in 2021 following final revisions to the livery application.

VIDEO: Hornby's Captain Tom Moore Class 66

Hornby's limited edition model of GBRf Class 66 66731 Captain Tom Moore - A True British Inspiration has arrived (Cat No. R30069). The model has been produced by Hornby to raise funds for the NHS and all 3,500 have been sold. In total it raised £140,000 for the NHS through sales on Hornby's own website.

VIDEO: Centenary 'Smokey Joe'

Amongst Hornby's 2020 centenary items is its plucky Caledonian Railway 0-4-0ST which is best known for its appearance in the Hornby catalogue as 'Smokey Joe'.

Accurascale updates Class 37 project

Accurascale has updated the expected delivery timescale for its new range of 'OO' gauge Class 37s which are now scheduled to be available in the second quarter of 2021. 

Trains4U KFA in colour

Cavalex Models has received updated decorated samples for its exclusive model of the KFA/PFB 'Warflat' wagons for Trains4U. The new 'OO' gauge wagon are only available from Train4U with prices set at £35 each.
