Kernow Model Rail Centre (KMRC) has commissioned an exclusive ‘OO’ gauge BR Class 90 Bo-Bo electric from Bachmann, finished as 90129 Frachtverbindungen in Deutsche Bahn (DB) red (Cat No. 32-612Z/ZSF).

British Rail (BR) repainted four of its Class 90 AC electric locomotive fleet in the early 1990s to commemorate the Freight Connection 92 exhibition hosted in Birmingham and highlight the European rail network ahead of the Channel Tunnel opening. Three locomotives were painted in the European colour schemes of national operators DB, SNCF and SNCB, while the fourth carried BR's Railfreight Distribution scheme.

KMRC’s exclusive model of 90129 is finished in German Railways’ DB red with white and yellow ends and comes with etched metal nameplates and a numbered certificate of authenticity.

As with previous releases, the model features a die-cast chassis, five-pole motor, twin flywheels, 21-pin Digital Command Control (DCC) decoder socket, motorised (servo) pantograph and switchable head and tail lights.

90129 will also accurately reflect the prototype with different buffer styles at either end, original style slatted grille, TDM cables mounted at the buffer sides and large battery charger.

Available to order now, prices are set at £229.95 DCC ready (32-612Z) and £329.95 DCC sound-fitted (32-612ZSF).
