Intended for carrying lengthy loads such as rail and track panels, the 62ft design continued into the BR era, with examples of the ‘Salmon’ wagon still in use today on the rail network.

Hornby’s all-new models will reflect the prototypes through the years, with five releases planned initially including one in LMS grey (Cat No. R60202), plus three YMO ‘Salmon’ (R60203-5) and a single YMA ‘Salmon’ in BR departmental guises (R60206).

Detail differences have been incorporated within the tooling suite and each wagon will feature a die-cast metal chassis, removable bolsters and detailed decking. Alternative bogies have also been tooled.

Priced at £38.49 each, release is currently slated for Spring 2024.
