Lionheart Trains has received new engineering samples for its ‘O’ gauge model of the BR Standard ‘3MT’ 2-6-2T which is now expected to be released in the second quarter of 2023.
The locomotives will be available in late and early BR crest lined black, lined green and plain green (HM183). A wide variety of class numbers are on offer as well as limited quantities of un-numbered versions.
The model features a die-cast metal body and chassis, die-cast wheels with steel tyres and diecast pivoted coupling and connecting rods. Details include working cab doors, wire handrails in metal stanchions, sprung metal buffers and screw link couplings. The model is also set to incorporate a removable cab giving access to the footplate including full backhead detail with flickering firebox and reversing wheel.
The locomotive is powered by a five-pole skew wound motor and will have pick-ups on all wheels including the pony trucks.
Lionheart’s new BR ‘3MT’ 2-6-2T is priced at £575 DCC ready, £605 DCC fitted and £685 DCC sound-fitted.
