TAKOM NAVAL AND MILITARY GEMS
UK importer of Takom kits, Bachmann Europe, has provided a glimpse of exciting new items expected in August/September 2021.
Naval fans will be delighted with two innovative new products from Takom, but there’s a treat for armour fans too. First on the list is a combined 1/35 kit (PKTAK02138, £46.99) offering GWS-30 Sea Dart and GWS-25 Sea Wolf missile systems, both of which were employed aboard Royal Navy warships during the Falklands conflict in 1982.

Also on a maritime theme is Takom’s display-style set of Battleship Yamato Anchors (PKTAK01013, £59.99) in 1/16 scale. The kit provides the 15-ton main anchor from this famous Imperial Japanese Navy vessel, as well as the smaller stern equivalent, and both sit on smart-looking plinths. The main anchor height is 32.3cm and the smaller is 18.6cm.
For those who like their action on tracks, Takom is also releasing a Cold War gem in its 1/35 M60A1 with ERA and M9 Bulldozer attachment (PKTAK02142, £69.99). Explosive Reactive Armour panels cover this US Army and US Marines mean machine, which has optional open/closed hatches, one-piece tracks, photo-etched metal parts and markings for a choice of four different vehicles.
