The Stirling Singles designed by Patrick Stirling were a class of 4-2-2 express passenger locomotives for the Great Northern Railway. They were displaced by the arrival of ‘Atlantic’ 4-4-2s in 1898. They were all withdrawn by 1916 and No.1 is the only example to be preserved and remains as part of the National Collection.

Rapido’s re-release features the all-new low profile Sturrock tender which models the locomotive in its 1930s condition. This new model is joined by a re-release of the original locomotive produced for Locomotion Models with the larger tender.

The new tender adds a further choice of appearance to the 'OO' gauge Stirling Single.

The ‘OO’ gauge locomotive features a factory fitted speaker, 21-pin DCC socket and firebox flicker.

Release is expected in the fourth quarter of 2024 and the new models are priced at £249.95 DCC ready and £349.95 DCC sound fitted.
