Rapido Trains UK has received first Engineering Prototype (EP) samples of its forthcoming newly-tooled ‘OO’ gauge Railway Clearing House (RCH) 1907 open wagons for assessment by the project’s development team.
Rapido Trains UK is producing the five-plank open with side doors and seven-plank open with side and end doors to the RCH 1907 wagon design – the first time these have appeared for ‘OO'. The manufacturer’s extensive tooling suite will also cater for variations between wagons including ribbed or smooth tapered buffers, square, rounded or Ellis axleboxes, straight or bent ‘V’ hangers, split or solid-spoke wheels and single or double-sided brakes.
More than thirty different identities and liveries are planned in the first batch of releases.
Prices are set at £32.95 each, with delivery anticipated in late 2023/early 2024.
