WHEN HORNBY announced it was producing the Ruston and Hornsby 48DS four-wheel diesel mechanical shunter (4wDM) we knew it would be a hit. Small locomotives have a unique charm and there is only one ready-to-run model smaller than the 48DS in ‘OO’ gauge – Bachmann’s Wickham trolley and trailer.
