TANKFEST MOVES ONLINE

FOLLOWING THE cancellation of its annual Tankfest event, The Tank Museum has partnered with online gaming platform World of Tanks to host the show digitally, via live-streaming on its YouTube channel and Facebook page.

COVID-19 restrictions have forced the Bovington, Dorset-based museum to remain closed since March and it had provisionally rescheduled the show’s 20th anniversary – the venue’s largest fundraiser – from June 26-28 to September 11-13. The event has now been cancelled altogether.

The museum has announced it will host a special free online version on June 28 to compensate disappointed fans. It will be live-streamed from 3-6pm and feature the Tank Arena show plus various demonstrations, with supporting historical content available via the website.

Money will be raised to help preserve the historic fighting vehicles, including the only operational Tiger tank in the world.
