‘TT:120’ Class 50 running sample arrives

A running sample of Hornby’s newly-tooled ‘TT:120’ scale Class 50 Co-Co diesel has been received by the company’s design team. This latest arrival will enable the development team to assess the running characteristics of the model.

Three Class 50s are set to be released initially finished as 50007 Sir Edward Elgar in Great Western Railway 150th anniversary lined green (Cat No. TT3013M), 50040 Leviathan in BR large logo blue (TT3014M) and 50049 Defiance in GB Railfreight blue and orange (TT3015M).The InterCity style colour scheme on the sample is not one of the liveries announced so far.

The Class 50s will feature a five-pole skew-wound motor, die-cast metal chassis, directional lighting and a Next18 Digital Command Control (DCC)  decoder socket.

Priced at £167.99 each, release is expected during Spring 2024.
