The aftermarket manufacturer has released a correction and upgrade set for the reissued Airfix 1/72 Beagle Basset 206 kit.
Re-releases in the Airfix Vintage Classics range are always hugely popular. The range has a ‘new’ member in the form of the 1/72 Beagle Basset from 1968, in RAF Transport Command markings. However, anyone building it should note that the vertical tail reflects the shape of the prototype… not that of the RAF CC.1 service machine.
AlleyCat Models has come to the rescue, though, with a dedicated resin upgrade set (ACM72072C – price TBC), which will be soon available via online retailer Models for Sale. It provides not just the combined vertical stabiliser/rudder part, but also more refined mainwheels and propellers with spinners. Note that you’ll need to cut away the existing styrene tail from the fuselage halves, but it’s a simple act of minor surgery.
