MILITARY MODELLERS will find much to savour from FC Model Trend’s range of 1/35 and 1/16 3D-printed accessories, which offer alternatives to fiddly photo-etched (PE) brass fittings.
Two products received recently by AMW will add finesse to any 1/35 Sd.Kfz. 250 half-track or British World War Two armour. The former (35633) offers a full set of clamps, brackets and clasps for hull-mounted tools and equipment – these are arguably far superior to PE alternatives as they provide a three-dimensional relief straight from the pack, with no folding required. Most tools are catered for, and there are clamps for a jack and spare links holders. Modellers will need to use reference photos or kit instructions for placement. By comparison, the Mk.19 Wireless Antenna base set (35550) provides five exquisitely printed units, each with an integral antenna guard, which are intended as drop-in replacements for styrene components. While delicate, they are a vast improvement on any plastic alternative.
