CHRIS CLIFFORD explores Kagero’s new Mini Topcolors edition – Part I of the firm’s focus on the Messerschmitt Bf 110C.
Whether you’re keen on Luftwaffe subjects in general, or have a particular liking for the Messerschmitt Bf 110, Kagero’s new softback on the latter is a useful product. In landscape format as usual, Topcolors 44 is the first edition in a study of the Bf 110C, offering colour profile and plan artwork for eight different German Luftwaffe airframes, plus decals for all in both 1/72 and 1/48 scales.

The camouflage varies considerably between the subjects, these being from the European and Mediterranean Theatres. Three individual decal sheets carry all unit markings and codes, while there’s also a generous helping of national insignia (Swastikas supplied in halved format). The artwork is splendid, featuring weathering, exhaust staining and excellent depiction of the markings. On that note, there is highly interesting unit and personal décor here (representing machines from the Battle of Britain onwards), all being supplied in decal form so you can replicate your own scale version in 1/72 or 1/48.
