MEMORIAL DAKOTA MARKINGS

MEMORIAL DAKOTA MARKINGS

Hannants’ own-brand Xtradecal has re-printed its 1/72 liveries for the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Dakota.

MEMORIAL DAKOTA MARKINGS
While the British public always loves to see the Lancaster, Spitfires and Hurricanes of the RAF's Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF), its support aircraft the Dakota C.3 ZA947 also has a large army of fans. Modellers can build the aircraft in 1/72 scale, in any of its four uniforms, courtesy of this re-printed sheet from Xtradecal. It offers very different schemes, but all have been worn by the aircraft throughout its career, both with the BBMF and before. They are:

•    Royal Aircraft Establishment, Signal Red/Oxford Blue/white ‘raspberry ripple’, 1984
•    ‘AI’, BBMF, Dark Earth and Dark Green over Sky
•    BBMF, ‘YS/DM/YS-H’, 1994, Olive Drab over Neutral Gray with lower fuselage invasion stripes, commemorates 271 and Flt David Lord VC, Arnhem, September 1944
•    Royal Aircraft Establishment, 1982, white and aluminium with blue cheat line

These decals exhibit spot-on register, rich colours and thin, gloss carrier film, and represent a splendid collection of schemes for fans of the Dakota and/or BBMF. They cost just £8.99 from www.hannants.co.uk
