The Ukrainian manufacturer has added the T-55A MOD. 1970 variant to its impressive 1/35 range replicating this famous tank family, as CHRIS CLIFFORD discovers… and it has a full interior!
If you’ve never seen a MiniArt T-55 with interior detail, it really is something to behold... and it is ever so slightly intimidating if you’ve yet to tackle such a full-on build. This particular item, the T-55A MOD. 1970 (37094), follows many of MiniArt’s 1/35 T-55, closely related T-54 and Israeli Tiran models, first issued in 2016. Several of these benefit from full interiors. A major trait of the MOD. 1970 was the addition of a 12.7mm DShK machine gun mounted externally on the turret (MiniArt had already issued the MOD. 1970 with OMSh tracks in 2019). Minus the box, the runners weigh in at a hefty 1.22Kg. In boxing parlance this is a heavyweight contender, and will arguably provide the most detailed replica many modellers will ever attempt.
