While there has been a plethora of 1/35 Ha-Go kits on the market, very few kits have been produced in 1/72 scale. Dragon issued three versions from 2011-2014, but now IBG has turned its attention to the '95 – the most numerous Japanese armoured vehicle of World War Two. If you’re not familiar with this manufacturer, IBG has steadily built its range of military, maritime and aircraft kits in different scales, but the watchword is always ‘quality’.
This pleasing package will delight military modellers who favour smaller scales, not least because Dragon’s Ha-Go boxings are currently out of production. IBG’s model comes on six grey styrene runners (two of those being identical), along with a small photo-etched brass fret and a diminutive decal sheet.
The quality is evident immediately on seeing the upper hull, with its delicately moulded engine screen, finely engraved hatches and bolt detail. Turret-wise, the standard is equally impressive, as the hatch comes in halves for attachment to the separate cupola part (you can pose the hatch doors open or closed).
