Peco has launched a new 'TT:120' range of track and model railway accessories - a new scale pitched midway between ‘OO’ and ‘N’.
‘TT’ – short for ‘Table Top’ – first appeared in the USA in the mid-1940s to 1:120 scale, while Tri-ang launched its own British ‘TT’ range in the late 1950s. The Tri-ang products were to an increased 1:101.6 scale, but ran on the same 12mm gauge track.
The new Peco 1:120 scale ‘TT’ range will reflect a more accurate scale to gauge ratio and includes 12mm gauge Streamline flexible track, turnouts and a series of 2.54mm:1ft building kits including a GWR country station, goods shed, signalbox, platforms and buffer stops. Further items will be added in the future.
In launching the new product range, Peco’s Managing Director, Ben Arnold, said, “I’ve always wanted us to offer true 1:120/2.54mm scale 12mm gauge track and accessories to fill this gap in the market and bring back the true-to-scale format. As we have our own UK-based manufacturing operation, we are able to do this to the highest standards that we require and within a relatively short time.”
The new TT:120 range will be available from Peco stockists shortly.
