Plus Model has produced two sets of beautiful photo-etched metal signs… perfect for dioramas and vignettes.
Innovative Czech Republic-based firm Plus Model is renowned for its wide range of diorama accessories, aircraft-focused aftermarket items and full kits. The company has now turned its design prowess to producing two pre-printed photo-etched metal frets carrying 1930s-40s tinplate advertising signs.
They are exquisite in their execution, and will certainly lend authenticity to any 1/35 scenic modelling projects featuring buildings or sections thereof, walls and the like. Set 568 offers 16 individual signs for famous brands such as Bosch, Philips Radio, Agfa Photo and His Master’s Voice, while set 570 provides 15 signs highlighting other companies’ products. These feature Bugatti, Michelin, Goodrich and others, and even the Parisian nightspot Le Chat Noir, although this last entity was arguably from a slightly earlier period.
Just one of these superbly rendered signs could inspire a particular scale scene, and while they are portrayed ‘as new’, they could also be weathered to a certain degree if desired; great mounted on a wall, or even a wooden post depending on the situation.
