The ever-popular Blue Pullman is back in its final guise. MIKE WILD inspects this new ‘N’ gauge arrival for Bachmann’s Graham Farish portfolio.

Revamped ‘N’ gauge

FIRST REVIEW

BACHMANN’S Graham Farish Blue Pullman Diesel Electric Multiple Unit (DEMU) is making a triumphant return to ‘N’ gauge in a revised format to model one of the two former Midland Region six-car units after they transferred to the Western Region.

The Blue Pullman DEMUs were introduced in 1960 with two six-car sets running on the Midland Region from London to Manchester and three eight-car sets based on the Western Region operating between London and Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Bristol, Cardiff and Swansea. In 1966 the two Midland sets transferred to the Western Region gaining wrap around yellow ends in the middle of that year and reverse grey and blue livery from 1967.
