When it comes to trucks, Italeri stands head and shoulders above the rest in getting the best from its kits; here parts from four Volvo F16 and FH16 offerings are combined with two new runners (bull bars, wheel arches and engine extras) and a partial frame from its truck accessories set (3854). Seven hollow vinyl tyres and a sheet of vinyl mesh (for the bull bars) complete this busy package. The result is the XXL version, along with striking ‘Viking’ livery for the cab sides and aerodynamic fairings, and stylised company logo. Commendably, the parts are moulded cleanly, notably those older items, some of which have been around for more than three decades, yet there is minimal flash or sink marks. The decals are another gem, with stunning artwork for the exterior, along with rear-view mirrors, rear light clusters and trim, all featuring perfect register and excellent opacity.
