Winter project

MIKE WILD has been catching up on pieces of the test track jigsaw which have been waiting for attention with the latest modification being replacement of one corner of the ‘O’ gauge layout.

The original boards forming this corner of the ‘O’ gauge test track didn’t match the requirements of the layout in its new location – new boards were required.

EVER SINCE I relocated the test tracks last year I’ve been working through a list of amendments to make the best use of the space available. Initially the two layouts – Topley Dale in ‘OO’ and the ‘O’ gauge test track – were set up exactly as they were before apart from being higher offthe ground. This was followed by extension of the ‘OO’ layout to take full advantage of the 16ft x 10ft space now available to both layouts including a new 10-track storage yard and a diversionary route too.
