A fascinating Japanese suicide mission prototype is now available in 1/72 scale from the Czech manufacturer, as CHRIS CLIFFORD discovers.
I must admit, this esoteric aircraft was new to me… but in mitigation, the machine did not progress pass the prototype stage. It was designed by Japan’s Capt Yoshiyuki Mizuyama as a suicide aircraft built from basic materials, such as plywood... its focus being to attack Allied tanks and infantry while toting a fixed 100kg bomb on the centreline (it was to be 500kg, but the underpowered engine prevented this).
