BLACKBURN BUCCANEER

With a Buccaneer featuring high on the ‘most wanted’ list of many a modeller, Andy Davies finds out what’s on offer from Airfix’s newly tooled 1/72 S.2

The centre-section captured the Buccaneer’s curvaceous area-ruled lines perfectly; the wing stub cut-outs made room for the wing-fold mechanism.

Blackburn’s mighty Buccaneer was one of the most capable Cold War lowlevel strike aircraft and entered Royal Navy service in 1962 to counter the growing Soviet naval threat.
