The West Coast Main Line has always been a source of interest for ANDY STEPHNEY. Hatch End is the result and it models a fascinating six-track section where London Underground units ran side by side with overhead electrics. Photography Trevor Jones.

I was always fascinated with British Rail and the liveries that were applied on AC electric locomotives and diesels during the 1980s. The new InterCity ‘Executive’ scheme really caught my eye when it took over from ‘Large Logo’ blue, though at first it was known affectionately as ‘raspberry ripple’.
