IPMS Brampton Scale Model Club will be displaying its latest model builds at Model World LIVE on April 27/28 2024 including stunning aviation models and more.
Brampton Scale Model Club is the main club in the Huntingdon area for scale modellers, and caters for all skill levels within the hobby. The models are mainly of the plastic construction kit variety, but there are members who dabble in wood, resin and metal, both in kit form, and by making purely from scratch.
The subjects range from aircraft, ships and military vehicles, through to science fiction, animals and fantasy subjects. The club has been in the local area for over 20 years starting out on a small scale in RAF Brampton (and RAF Wyton), and has grown over the years to its present size and moved venue to Sawtry. It is very much a social group that happens to make models, with a relaxed, friendly and welcoming approach to meetings and modelling.
The club also incorporates the local branch of International Plastic Model Society (IPMS). This is an umbrella organisation for like-minded modellers, both nationwide and across the globe. Along with IPMS (UK) the club has expanded to include and produce several Special Interest Groups (SIGs). These are in essence mini clubs that focus on a particular subject or theme and have a membership that extends far beyond the club.
SIGs include Submarine Warfare, Supreme Acts of Valour, The South Atlantic, Classic British Jets and more.
