KR Models debuts GT3

KR Models launched its model railway business in 2018 with plans to produce a ‘OO’ gauge ready-to-run model of unique English Electric gas turbine prototype GT3, and now it’s in the Hornby Magazine office for review. MIKE WILD pays close attention to this sought-after new arrival.

I KNOW I’m not the only one who has been hankering after a model of this English Electric gas turbine prototype because the first production run has already sold through with new ‘OO’ gauge ready-to-run manufacturer KR Models. It launched with a bold mission to create the sought after GT3 for ‘OO’ gauge in 2018 (HM133), and as the first shipment is on the water it has expressions of interest open for a second production run too, such has been its popularity. 

What we have here is the first chance to see the finished product up close. Any model manufacturer has a tough audience to please, but when it comes to releasing your first product to market all eyes are on what you do, so it’s essential to get every element, big and small, right.
