SHORT TAKE-OFF AIRLINER
HAWKER SIDDELEY’S HS 748/Andover has received little attention from kit manufacturers, and Mark I Models’ newly tooled 1/144 product (MKM144122) is the first styrene offering of the type.
There’s just a single styrene runner – but all parts are moulded crisply, with delicately engraved panel lines on the exterior. Mark I has provided a pre-printed cardboard base to display the model, which is presented in just wheels-down configuration, although it should be simple to convert it to an in-flight machine. Markings are provided for three airlines: Autair International, Scottish European and Deutsche Lufttransport, with faithfully replicated liveries for reach airframe. There are no transparencies (a common occurrence in this scale) and all glazing is provided in decal form.
