KR Models’ next ‘OO’ gauge project will be the War Department (WD) ‘Austerity’ 2-10-0.
Revealing the plans at the Warley National Model Railway Exhibition, the manufacturer is due to release examples of the 'OO' gauge new model in Longmoor Military Railway (LMR) blue, Olive Drab green, Khaki sand and BR black with early crests.
Introduced during the Second World War, the locomotives were designed to have interchangeable parts and were relatively cheap to produce. 150 were built in total.
KR Models’ all-new model will be offered Digital Command Control (DCC) ready and DCC sound-fitted, with or without a pre-fitted smoke unit.
Priced at £240 DCC ready, £340 DCC sound fitted and £370 DCC sound and smoke fitted, a release date has yet to be confirmed.
