FRENCH RACER: SBS MODEL CAUDRON C.561 BUILD

In recent years I’ve developed a real fascination with racing aircraft – especially those from the Schneider Trophy events. Racing, at least in the ‘golden years’ of aviation, inspired pioneering design although of course, not all were successful. Prompting joy in certain modelling quarters, Hungary’s SBS Model has for some time been releasing boutique resin kits of Schneider-centric and other racing aircraft. Thankfully, in 2020 it produced the fabulous, futuristic-looking French Caudron C.561 in 1/72 scale… certainly one of the coolest aerial racing machines I can think of. A 1/48 example of this inter-war sporting aircraft was issued by SBS the following year, but both are of the highest quality. Here, I’m building the latter kit (SBS4006).
