Rubicon Models’ Centurion tank is aimed at gamers, but its quality and detail make it a fine option purely for display.

Currently available kits of the Centurion Mk.3/Mk.5 tank are all in 1/35 or 1/72 scales… but what if you want something in between? An extensive collection of 1/35 armour does take up much display space, and 1/72 is just too diminutive for some. In terms of the Centurion, the answer could lie in Rubicon Models’ styrene kit, which allows the replication of the Mk.3 or ‘5.

Ostensibly scaled for table-top gamers, at 1/56, the company produces enough different military vehicle kits that you could amass quite a gathering, yet still not take up too much room. This new 109-part Centurion is impressive as it’s well detailed, with many features you’d expect to see on larger-scaled versions. Ease of assembly is also a consideration, so gamers can produce an ‘army’ relatively quickly… but that’s a plus point for many builders isn’t it?
