Chris Jones gets his teeth into building an iconic Wattisham 74 Squadron Phantom, courtesy of Revell’s re-boxed 1/48 FGR.2

The kit’s cockpit was more than adequate, but it was decided to employ Eduard’s aftermarket PE set as the instrumentation was much finer.
After careful brush painting, the precoloured metal parts were made to match the rest of the cockpit.
The resin seats from Quickboost (left) were a definite improvement over the kit alternatives (right).

Anyone with a passion for RAF history will have a favourite squadron, perhaps through a personal connection, eyecatching unit markings, squadron history, aircraft flown or a mixture of further reasons.
