Schiffer’s hardback on USAF air rescue assets is a stunning, highly useful reference for modellers, says CHRIS CLIFFORD.
Modelling on a theme can be great fun… especially if your chosen direction offers plenty of variety. There’s much of that on offer with Schiffer’s thumping new 287-page book, The US Air Force Air Rescue Service, as it provides a huge amount of visual/textual information on the airborne life-saving arm of the USAF. Whether you already have a general interest in rescue aircraft, or if it’s a topic on which you are about to embark, this tome is invaluable – especially if you favour USAF flying machines. If you also like colour in your modelling, ‘emergency’ aircraft can be immensely satisfying due to their often brightly hued liveries.
