Polish kit manufacturer Arma Hobby has released what is arguably the best ever 1/72 P-51B/C Mustang. CHRIS CLIFFORD finds out more…
Various kit producers have replicated the P-51B/C in 1/72 scale over the years, but none have truly ‘nailed it’ for accuracy. Obvious errors included using the extended wing leading edge of the P-51D, but there were many other more subtle niggles to make life more difficult for modellers.
Now, though, Arma Hobby seems to have done plenty of homework with the tooling of its all-new styrene P-51B/C kit, which has beautifully detailed parts and a high degree of fidelity. The expert set sample (70038) we received also comes with photo-etched (PE) brass details, and there are seven colour schemes – all interesting and attractive in their own right, including two RAF Mustang IIIs.
