China’s Border Model has issued its fourth 1/35 Tiger I… representing early-production versions at the Third Battle of Kharkov, as CHRIS CLIFFORD discovers.
Border seems to be well and truly running with the Tiger I ball since issuing its original tooling in 2020 and its coverage has included an Initial Production boxing. Its latest offering seeks to emulate Tiger I early-production examples fighting in the Third Battle of Kharkov (as evidenced by some of the provided equipment and colour schemes). A wealth of detail lies in these kits, and especially this new product as it comes with extra parts on a single runner, designed by Jason Studio, allowing you to inject much additional character. They include unditching beams (with excellent wood grain), jerrycans, oil/fuel funnels, ammunition boxes, helmets, rolled tarpaulins/air identification flags, buckets and even foodstuff in the form of pig legs. Also supplied are parts replicating a ‘bagged’ main gun muzzle brake and machine gun.
