NEW CMK AIRCRAFT ACCESSORIES

The Czech aftermarket specialist has a handy selection of fresh aircraft items in 1/72 and 1/48 scales.

If you build in the aforementioned scales, CMK’s new aftermarket products may well be of interest. Starting with 1/72, M72036 (4.30€) is a wheel and canopy mask set for the Vautour IIB, produced by sister firm Special Hobby. It’s followed by a similar self-adhesive mask set (M72037, 4.30€) for Special Hobby’s Tachikawa Ki-54 Otsu/Hickory gunnery trainer aircraft.

Next comes a very simple offering, but it’s very useful…pack H1017 supplied a 30cm length of fine metal chain, which is ideal for making carrier aircraft tie-downs in 1/48 and 1/72, but it could also prove its worth on 1/48 armoured vehicles. It costs 3€.

Fans of 1/48 fighters have a treat with the following three items. Set 4433 (14.50€) provides a full resin cockpit, with photo-etched brass details, for the 1/48 Academy/Accurate Miniatures A-36/P-51/P-51A. Here, the instrument panel is resin, with a photo-etched (PE) brass overlay… in between sits a small printed acetate sheet with dial detail. PE is also employed for the seatbelts and rudder pedals, but the rest is all resin and includes a floor, sidewalls, a seat with rear armour, and the radio decking.

Also released for the same kit is set 4444, which provides a radiator unit entirely made from resin, costing 10€.

Finally, modellers building 1/48 Mitsubishi Zero kits may want to add more life to their project, with item F48376 (10.30€), which is a detailed resin Japanese Zero pilot, posed standing with his left hand on an upright, separately cast Katana sword. It’s perfect for the new Eduard Zero, but of course could be employed with any other kit of the type in this scale.
