French company Dynamo Models has released its first full model kit – US M55 Quad Mount Machine Guns 2 in 1 – reviewed here by CHRIS CLIFFORD.
Dynamo Models has already forged a reputation for its resin figures and busts in different scales. Now, though, the firm has issued its debut model kit (35DM001), which is available in the UK via online retailer Tyrell Models. It marries styrene parts from Dragon’s 1/35 Quad Gun Trailer M55 from 2009 with Dynamo’s own 3D-printed resin details, a photo-etched (PE) brass piece and fresh decals. The painting and markings guide has been created by AMMO-MIG.
The kit allows you to replicate one of three different Vietnam War versions, or a World War Two example… but all wear Olive Drab paint. If you’re unfamiliar with Dragon’s product, it involves five styrene runners, whereby two are repeated and one carries parts for a gunner figure, while a clear frame carries the sighting unit (plus various unwanted parts, good for spares). From the outset, Dynamo’s instructions show the different components necessary for either a Vietnam set, or the World War Two format.
