NEW 1/72 SPITFIRE BOXING FROM EDUARD

Eduard’s love affair with the Spitfire continues via a new Weekend edition boxing (7466) of its lovely 1/72 Mk.IXc. Three of the machines wear standard RAF Day Fighter livery (two having invasion stripes), while the fourth example offers variety in that it’s a USAAF Spitfire with a red spinner and wing bands. The schemes are:

•    MK244/DU-Z, Jan Čermák, 312 (Czechoslovak) Squadron, 134 Wing, RAF Appledram, UK, June 1944
•    MK144/FF-O BOMBAY, Sqn Ldr Alan Geoffrey Page, 132 Squadron, RAF Ford, UK, February-May 1944
•    MK832/DB-T CALAMITY JANE VI, Sqn Ldr Robert K Hayward, 411 Squadron, B.4 Beny-sur-Mer, France, July-August 1944
•    WZ-RR THAT’S ALL FOLKS/PORKY II/PUD, Lt Robert J Connors, 309th Fighter Squadron, 31st Fighter Group, Twelfth Air Force, Castel Volturno, Italy, February-March 1944

Plenty of choice

The decal sheet includes seatbelts and instrument panel dials, while a separate sheet carries stencils, walkways and gun port patches; Eduard’s generic runners also provide two sizes of ‘saddle’ fuel tank as well as a ‘cigar’ tank and rack for the centreline. You can pose the canopy and access door open or closed and there is a separate rudder and ailerons. At just £10.64 direct from Eduard, this is splendid value. It’s also available at Hannants in the UK.
