Heljan LMS inspection saloon breaks cover

Decorated samples of the London, Midland & Scottish Railway (LMS) inspection saloon developed by Heljan for ‘O’ gauge are being assessed by the company’s development team.

The first three samples to arrive represent BR crimson and cream, BR Southern Region departmental blue and EWS red and gold, and will be on display on the company’s stand at Model Rail Scotland this weekend (February 23-25).

Other liveries planned include LMS crimson, BR lined maroon, BR blue and grey, ScotRail, Regional Railways, Loadhaul and 1980s LMS crimson.

The ‘O’ gauge models will feature sprung buffers, separately fitted exterior and interior detail with internal lighting, different bogie types, different yellow ends on some models and a magnetic roof.

Priced at £319, the model is planned for a 2024 release with further details to be announced.
