ITALERI REISSUES FOKKER F-27

After re-releasing ESCI’s 1/72 Fokker F-27 with civilian liveries four years ago, Italeri reintroduces it again, this time with military schemes.

ITALERI REISSUES FOKKER F-27

ESCI’s F-27 was first released in 1991 and was a respectable item. Like many of the company’s kits from that time, it benefited from engraved panel lines, although the detail was basic in places and the engine nacelles were misshapen. Some of the problems aren’t difficult to remedy though.

After issuing it in civil markings in 2019, Italeri has seen fit to reissue the kit with one of its excellent ‘Super decals’ sheets and here with item 1455 you receive aftermarket-quality transfers for three Spanish Air Force airframes in slightly different schemes, plus a Netherlands Air Force example. Full stencilling is present, as are superb propeller decals… which means you avoid a wealth of masking. Window ovals and propeller spinner spirals are offered too.

Four grey styrene runners are supplied, and one clear for the windscreen and windows. The liveries are:

•    F-27-200 MPA, D2 01, 802 Squadron, Fuerza Area Española, Gando Air Base, Canary Islands, 2013
•    F-27-200 MPA, D2 01/802-10, 802 Squadron, Fuerza Area Española, Gando Air Base, Canary Islands, September 2005
•    F-27-200 MPA, M-1, Koninklijke Luchtmacht, Hato International Airport, Dutch Western Antilles, 1995
