SEPECAT Jaguar fans have never been particularly well served by kit manufacturers, in any scale. What has been issued is reasonable at best, and  the reason why has always been a mystery… vexing those keen on the type. However, a 1/72 offering has found its way back to market in the shape of Italeri’s T.2, which now provides four RAF schemes as item 1470.

While far from perfect, this moulding can be made to look respectable by more experienced modellers, although the panel-line engraving is not as sharp as that exhibited by Hasegawa’s Jaguar.  The outline does compare well with scale drawings in Ad Hoc Publications’ Aeroguide 31, but the kit is let down in several areas, such as the air intakes, which have incorrectly shaped holes, and the lacking-in-depth wheel hubs. Purists will also find the ejection seats rather clunky. Yet Italeri has added underside cannon bulges to its two-seater… features that were missing from the single-seat versions.
