By the end of February much of the scenery was complete making way for the start of overhead catenary installation. WITH ALL the major woodwork and track work now complete, the Making Tracks 3 team we are now moving on to the electrics and the immense job of detailing the layout.
We all tend to think that modern railways are clean, neat and perhaps a little clinical, but when you actually start looking there is a huge amount of small and not so small details that bring any layout to life if modelled. What we find on Making Tracks is the sheer volume of items is tripled over normal layouts because of its size. For example we need around 80 station benches for the platforms - all of which need to be 3D printed and painted.
