Mammoth 47 for KMRC

Kernow Model Rail Centre's (KMRC) expanding range of limited editions is set to include 'O’ gauge for the first time later this year with the arrival of an exclusive model of Heljan's forthcoming all-new Class 47 diesel as D1670 Mammoth in two-tone green with small yellow warning panels.
The prototype entered service on BR's Western Region in 1965 and was named Mammoth in August that year. Its West Country connection came about when chosen to head British Rail's inaugural Clayfreighter service from Burngullow to Sittingbourne, hauling china clay slurry tanks, hence its selection as an exclusive edition by KMRC. Mammoth has also previously been produced as an exclusive limited edition in 'OO' for KMRC by Bachmann.
Heljan's model will accurately reflect D1670 as an early boiler-fitted locomotive with full underframe tanks and Serck radiator shutters. It will also be supplied with a pair of etched Mammoth nameplates.
Priced at £699 each, Kernow Model Rail Centre’s exclusive ‘O’ gauge model is due for release later this year.
