Naval modellers have a fascinating new option in NeOmega UK’s 1/144 Harbour Defence Motor Launch 1943, reviewed here by CHRIS CLIFFORD.
Until now known mostly for aircraft accessories, NeOmega UK has – pardon the pun – dipped its toe in the water with maritime subjects via its fledgling Iconic Boats range. Fronting this debut series is the company’s delightful 1/144 Harbour Defence Motor Launch (HDML) 1943. This multi-media product offers a full hull in cast resin, while most other details are in 3D-printed resin. These are complemented by a photo-etched brass fret carrying railings, gun platform surrounds/shields, a boat davit, oars, spotlight mounts and more. This is all crowned by a splendid turned-brass main mast produced by Poland’s Master Model.
