‘OO’ LSWR Road Vans due soon

Production of Kernow Model Rail Centre’s eagerly-awaited newly-tooled 'OO’ gauge London and South Western Railway/Southern Railway (LSWR/SR) 10ton Road Vans is now complete, with finished models expected during the Summer.

Almost 500 of these 10ton Goods brake vans were built for use by the LSWR between 1884 and 1905. They featured distinctive side doors which enabled parcels and other goods to be loaded, hence their Road Van moniker. As well as mainland use, they were also utilised on the Isle of Wight (IOW).

Ten models are planned including 56046 in SR brown (IOW) with red ends (Cat No. SB003A), 10131 in LSWR brown (mainland) with red ends (SB003B), DS54538 in BR grey (mainland) with Return to Three Bridges lettering (SB003C), S56055 in BR grey (IOW) (SB003D), S56050 in BR grey (IOW) (SB003E), S54663 in BR grey (mainland) (SB003F), S54466 in BR brown (mainland) (SB003G), 54611 in SR pre-1936 brown with red ends (mainland) (SB003H), 54551 in SR post-1936 brown (mainland) (SB003J) and 56045 in SR post-1936 brown (IOW) (SB003K).

Prices are set at £34.99 each, with delivery expected in July.
