Oxford Diecast Update


Ten new 1:76 scale vehicles lead the way for Oxford Diecast’s February to May 2020 announcements.

Newly tooled projects planned include a scooter, AC Invacar single seat vehicle, two new Jaguars, three Land Rover Defender variants modelling the very latest generation Defender, an AEC dumper truck and cement mixer together with an Austin Champ in the Oxford Military range (see table for more details).

Highlights of the new colour schemes on existing 1:76 scale cars include a black Mk II Ford Zodiac (76FZ004), Mk 1 Ford Capri in blue mink (76CP004), a diamond white Mk 2 Ford Escort (76ESC003), an Austin Maxi in pageant blue (76MX004), the MGBGT in mineral blue (76MGBGT004) and an Audi S3 Cabriolet in Misano red (76S3003).

From the 1:76 scale Oxford Commercials range, the Mercedes Sprinter van receives Stobart Rail livery (76MSV002), there’s also a Ford 400E van in Rediffusion colours (76DE015) and the Commer PB gains Royal Mail (Scotland) colours (76PB10). Emergency services vehicles aren’t forgotten with a Mk 2 Ford Escort Police car (76ESC004), Greater Manchester Police J4 van (76J4005), Metropolitan Police Range Rover (76RR3004), a Volkswagen T4 van in AA colours (76T5V005) and the Thorneycroft Nubian with Duxford (76N005) and Glasgow lettering (76N006).

Two new 1:76 coach liveries include a Mexborough and Swinton Leyland Royal Tiger (76LRT010) and West Yorkshire Bristol MW6G (76MW6006).

In the 1:148 scale range, the Shelvoke and Drewry Freightliner gains British Rail yellow (NSDF003), while the Bristol MW6G will appear in Eastern Counties NBC colours (NMW6003), the Mk 4 Ford Transit will appear in National Grid livery (NFT035) and the Volvo FH4 Walking Floor will be finished in McBurney Transport’s distinctive colour scheme (NVOL4008).

At the larger end of the scale, 1:43 scale highlights include an E Type Jaguar V12 Coupe in Old English White (43JAGV12006), Series II SWB Canvas Land Rover in RAF Police colours (43LR2S007) and a Series 3 SWB Land Rover Station Wagon in HM Coastguard livery (43LR3S007).
