Details of the first three releases in Takom’s forthcoming 1/35 AH-64 Apache helicopter gunship series have been provided by UK importer Bachmann Europe.
Helicopter fans - and military modellers who favour 1/35 scale but want to display air-support with their vehicles - must be highly excited about Takom’s new-tool styrene AH-64 Apaches. The Chinese manufacturer has joined forces with design specialist Snowman Model to complete these kits, which offer a wealth of refinement. All provide fully detailed cockpits and interior sections (such as avionics bays, engines and the lower rotor assembly) varied weapons, photo-etched brass parts and folding rotor blades. Two of the boxings feature 3D-printed resin pieces.
Kit PKTAK02601 US AH-64D Apache Longbow depicts the model with the trademark radar mounted on top of the rotor hub. It comes with markings for three different US Army airframes. The AH-64E ‘Guardian’ (in service from 2013) is the subject of kit PKTAK02602 and this has two colour schemes. Item PKTAK02603 is entitled E of the World and, as mentioned, offers markings for overseas users, these being: Korean Army, Indonesian Army, Qatar Emiri Air Force and Saudi Arabian National Guard. This has 3D-printed parts too.
All three kits are priced at £99.99 each and will be available via Bachmann Europe – expected in late January-early February 2023.
