Warley 2020 postponed

Warley 2020 postponed

Organisers of the 2020 Warley National Model Railway Exhibition have taken the difficult decision to postpone this year’s event until 2021.

This highlight in the exhibition calendar was due to take place at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham on the weekend of November 28/29 2020, but concern for public safety and the well-being of exhibitors and visitors to the show were the driving factors in taking this decision.

In a statement issued by Warley Model Railway Club in mid-June, exhibition manager Nigel Smith explained: “We considered different options, various scenarios and restrictions that could be imposed. Running an event with the current COVID-19 restrictions – such as adhering to social distancing requirements, restricting attendance numbers and dictating the direction of people around the hall – all ultimately would have impacted negatively on the experience of those attending and therefore the very essence of the show.”

Holders of advance tickets for this year’s shows will be able to claim a refund or retain their tickets for the 2021 event, which is due to take place at the NEC, Birmingham on November 27/28 2021.
