BALKANS SPITFIRE MARKINGS FROM ZE-RO DECALS

Croatian aftermarket decal firm Ze-Ro specialises in offering markings for aircraft from the Balkan states. A new 1/48 decal set (048021, €8.30) is No 352 (Y) RAF Squadron Spitfire Mk.Vc/trop ‘white G’. This aircraft, portrayed as it was in March 1945, was the mount of Sqn Ldr Hinko Šoić, stationed on the island of Vis, Croatia. Day-fighter shades of Dark Green and Ocean Grey are applied over Sky undersides and there’s an extensive victory tally on the fuselage. Note that clipped wings and an Aboukir tropical filter were fitted, the latter item being associated with 352(Y) Squadron’s service in the Mediterranean Theatre.

Opacity of the white markings is especially good, but the overall printing quality and register are impressive too… the decals being thin and having gloss carrier film. The sheet can be ordered directly from Ze-Ro Decals.
